How do you get more peace, warmth, and atmosphere in your home?

hoe krijg je meer rust in huis?

Perhaps you recognize it. Your home is neatly decorated, but it still doesn't feel quite the way you want it to.

Many people are looking for more tranquility at home, but at the same time also want to add more warmth and atmosphere to their interior. Not a cold, minimalist interior, but a warm place that feels calm and truly personal.

At Days of Bloom, we often hear this interior wish.

For example, a client shared that she lacked peace in her interior. Her home was light, spacious, and modern, yet it still felt empty and impersonal. She had carefully chosen beautiful furniture, but warmth and atmosphere were missing.

"The foundation is there... but it doesn't quite feel like home yet."

Together, we looked at how she could add more tranquility and warmth without making the interior feel cluttered. We chose a soft pattern with natural tones on one wall in the living room. Not an outspoken print, but rather a calm, layered atmosphere that brought warmth to the space. For the other walls, we chose a warm paint color that was echoed in the wallpaper. This created more unity, softness, and atmosphere.

Instead of keeping everything sleek and new, she started adding personal items: a stack of travel books, a found bowl from her grandmother, an old thrift store cabinet with collected objects and photos from travels.

It was precisely this combination that made the difference. An interior often feels calmer when it is not perfectly styled, but when it contains atmosphere, memories, and personality.

Why does an interior sometimes feel restless?

People often think that tranquility comes from fewer items or a very sleek interior. But tranquility is actually much more about balance.

A space can feel restless due to:

  • cold colors
  • harsh contrasts
  • empty walls
  • lack of cohesion
  • too many loose elements without connection
  • lighting that feels too cool

Especially white walls can sometimes look beautifully fresh, but at the same time also feel a bit cold or flat. We often see this in newly built houses. It is precisely color, texture, and prints that bring warmth and depth to a space.

Which colors create tranquility at home?

Colors have an enormous influence on how a space feels.

Shades that often provide more tranquility and warmth are:

  • sand colors
  • beige and taupe
  • soft green tones
  • earth tones
  • warm white tones
  • powdery floral colors
  • greying natural shades

These colors feel softer to the eye and bring more harmony to the home.

Within the Days of Bloom collection, we work extensively with natural colors and hand-drawn designs inspired by flowers, nature, and travels. Prints that bring atmosphere without feeling restless.

How do you create more atmosphere at home without it becoming cluttered?

Many people are afraid that wallpaper or color will immediately make an interior feel cluttered. But a calm design can actually make a space feel much warmer and more atmospheric.

It's often not about adding more, but about adding the right things.

For example, consider:

  • a soft statement wall
  • colors that are repeated in accessories
  • natural materials
  • flowers and organic shapes
  • personal objects with a story
  • a beautiful collection grouped together instead of scattered items

Tranquility often arises when everything feels more connected. Color, prints, materials, and personal accessories together create warmth, balance, and atmosphere.

A house should feel like a place where you can unwind.

An interior is not just about styling, but primarily about feeling. A home should radiate softness. Warmth. Peace. A place where you love to be and where you can truly recharge.

That is precisely why at Days of Bloom, we design patterns that add warmth, layering, and atmosphere to a space, inspired by nature, flowers, travels, and craftsmanship.

Tranquility at home does not mean everything has to be beige

We notice that many people are afraid that color, prints, or different patterns will make an interior cluttered. As a result, interiors sometimes remain safe, while personality and layering can add so much warmth.

At Days of Bloom, we believe that a calm interior can also be lively, colorful, and full of character.

A space often doesn't feel restless due to color or prints, but because there is no cohesion. When colors, materials, and designs reinforce each other, warmth and balance are created.

During a recent styling with our Proud Birds wallpaper, we saw this beautifully reflected. Interior stylist Anne-Wil combined different prints, cushions, fabrics, and accessories. Not sleek or perfectly styled, but warm, creative, and personal.

Think of:

  • floral prints
  • vintage finds
  • natural materials
  • travel souvenirs
  • special objects with a story
  • different textures and fabrics

Precisely because everything came together within a beautiful color palette, the interior felt atmospheric and calm at the same time.

Tranquility does not arise from less color, but from balance, atmosphere, and personality. An interior should live. It should tell a story about who you are.

An interior full of color and prints can actually feel surprisingly calm. Be inspired by the warm and personal interior of Anne-Wil from Studio Lente.
